On our coffee table there is a book with pictures from Mars, the planet Mars. Earlier I noticed in
Walmart, a globe of the moon with all the surface features from both sides. When I was a boy in school we were taught that there are 9 planets in our solar system. The most distance away was a small planet named Pluto. Today Pluto has been demoted. And we are not sure how many planets are in our solar system. Scientific laws do not seem to be absolute. Not to mention that Pluto is the only dog in Disney cartoons that cannot talk. It’s not fair.
As a result, in our culture today we have decided that there are no absolute laws. We are left to make up or break any law we so desire. Our culture is full of lawlessness and violence. We kill unborn babies calling them fetuses. We are now suggesting that doctors may give a terminal patient an injection of poison to kill him, at his request, to show compassion. How far will we go?
May I offer this word? I am absolutely certain that God is love. Also, the absolute truth is that by faith in Jesus Christ you receive eternal life. This is absolutely the best news you will ever hear. God’s Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
