Lea 8 and Caroline 5 years old were lost from their home in Benbow California for 2 days. They were rescued and asked how they handled their situation. They reported that they huddled under a tree when it got cold at night and thought happy thoughts. O Lord may we be led by children.
I’ve only been lost a few times but it was not serious and I found my way out each time, obviously. When confronted in my maturity I usually will try this or that. I seldom ask directions unless I get desperate. I would like to think I have gotten older and wiser. I have gotten older. However, when I need wisdom, I must seek it from God. Well, I sometimes Google to find a solution to a problem, but, often realize I should have gone to the Lord in prayer first.
Jesus set a child in their midst saying, “Whomsoever therefore shall humble himself as this child the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:4-5). Being child-like is one thing, but being childish is another. A childish person is someone who thinks they know everything but cannot see the truth for their pride. Indeed, give me a heart like a child so I may trust you in all things in my life.
