Celebration in life

I’m back! Have you ever said something like this when you returned home from a trip? If you were missed much your family or friends would make a big deal out of it. When my daughters were younger and I returned home from work or such, they would briefly celebrate my home coming with hugs and kisses. Then they would go about their business of playing. They seemed to enjoy me being home. Did you know that we are near the biggest homecoming of all eternity?

The angels told us to expect our Lord Jesus to return just as He left. He ascended into the heavens while the disciples watched. They were told to be about the business before them. Here’s the point: He’s coming home and we’re to be with Him. (John 14:2-3) He’s preparing a place for us.

First Thessalonians 4:14-18 tells us how our loved ones will be raised and we will all be changed. The Bible has to further explain the issue in 2Thessalonians 2:1-4 saying that sin and evil will be revealed in personal form. Some had been told that they were in the Great Tribulation and missed the coming of the Lord. The apostle had to tell them it was not true. Things may look grim at times, people of God, but, know this: we shall behold Him and be with Him for eternity to come.
