A father was observing his son who seemed to be in deep thought. His son had finished college, age 21, was living at home, single, and looking for work. He had interviewed numerous times but had no real bites. Dad asked, “What are your thoughts?”
The son replied, “I have concluded that socks are just underwear for the feet.”
Dad responded, “Hmm, I think I understand why you have not had much luck in the job market.”
Obviously I get my best material from the cartoon section of the newspaper. There seems not to be much deep thought there. I remember, however, a famous theologian was asked about his deepest thought and he replied, “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.” Coming from a children’s song, the phrase combines the entire message of God’s word to us.
So when you may ask yourself what is the meaning of your life, remember Jesus love you. You really can’t go any deeper that. When the entire world is falling apart and nothing makes sense, you can know the love of God in Jesus to you.
