Glittering gold

Have you ever heard it said, “everything that glitters is not gold?” I

painted a rock gold today. I painted another rock silver. They looked

rich. They were not. But, still the thought of something gold stimulates

my mind to think of riches and wealth. What makes gold so valuable?

Gold shines always and never tarnishes. Gold coins found on the ocean

floor have fallen out on the decks of ships, bright and shining as the day

they were minted. The inside of the Holy of Holies was covered with

sheets of pure gold. Thus, gold symbolizes the glorious heaviness of

God’s presence.

If you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, according to the word

of God, you are a temple of the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 3:16). The

Spirit of God dwells in His temple. If the inside of the temple of God is

pure gold, then the glorious heaviness of the presence of God is in the

believer just waiting to shine forth. So, believer, open your door and

the glory of God will shine out of you.
