A man got into a scuffle with a pelican in Florida. The pelican slapped the man in the face and then flew away. It was reported that the government officials were investigating the man for possible abuse of a federally protected endangered bird. Hey! The pelican won the fight. You’re going after the wrong one.
OK. I understand that some species need protection or they may go extinct. But, what’s there to
investigate? The bird’s OK and the man is the injured party. The law and justice do not always make sense or seem fair. Human laws are not always perfect. Some are just down right wrong. We, the people, have to have legislators change them when they are wrong. But the law of God is perfect. The law of God reveals that God is absolutely perfect and holy. The law of God reveals our desperate need of God’s mercy and grace. The law of God reveals that Jesus was and is the perfect Savior for all mankind because, “... He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”(2Corinthians 5:21).
Without Him I would be nothing. Without Him I’d be a slave. Without Him I would be drifting like a ship without a sail. There’s song that says that somewhere. We need the grace of God in Jesus daily applied and all the time utilized.
