Scrooge came to mind today. Like Scrooge, I’ve been visited by
the memories of past Christmases. Doing so could make you
begin to feel blue. Things happened. I made poor decisions.
There were consequences. There are always consequences to
every decision you make. It depends on whether you made a
right decision or not. I had too many poor ones.
OK, the Spirit of Christmas Present needs to show up to make
me less blue. So, according to the Spirit I should put my back to
the past and face the future in faith. My past is under the
blood of Jesus. My future is in God’s hands. I choose to enjoy
this time with my loved ones. We will laugh and sing and play
together in Jesus’ name. It’s Christmas!
Let’s watch the children open their gifts and play with the toys
(and boxes). Joy is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit for you.
